Colorwork technique
I’ve been consuming many videos regarding colorwork (about fair isle, intarsia, etc) and have heard different things about this, so I’d love y’all’s experiences and expertise.
I’ve been experimenting with techniques and have gotten mixed messages about when/if I should trap the non-working yarn.
For instance, the pattern I’m working now is two-color checkerboard of 3 stitches by 3 stitches. It’s a flat work in stockinette, so I’ve been twisting/trapping the non-working yarn when working the RS on the third stitch of every 3x3 block (and not on the WS). Everything is secure, but I’m wondering if I need to do it at all.
When/If you do twist/trap, under what circumstances and how often do you do so?
Please let me know if this ought to go instead in the knittinghelp sub. Thank you in advance!
