Help a clueless newbie out please

I’m painting my dining room this week and am just prepping the room. There are some cracked bits of plaster around our window. What should I do for these? Apply sealant or paint over it? We need to replace the windows at some point as they’re about 20 years old but not in our budget just yet. Any help or advice really appreciated, thanks
