Daytona 500 from somebody that stopped watching NASCAR when Dale died.....
I've caught bits & pieces of races here n there over the years, but to me, NASCAR really died with Dale. I wanted to give it an honest shot.
I watched an hour or so of the pre- race shows. All pre-recorded interviews and a Miranda Lambert concert apparently? 0 race substance. 0 tech info, interviews the crew chiefs, discussion about strategy, tires......just nothing.
I made to the end of 'stage 1'. I don't understand this manufactured caution bullshit. Good, clean racing until then. Nice to see another Nemachek racing. sadly we won't get to see much of a shootout at the end because of the stages crap.
I had to turn it off. They're leaning hard into chasing the Hispanic demographic I see, and that's great, really. I mean, they have to - nobody that grew up watching the sport has anything interesting to see anymore.
