Housing market rant
New to Corpus and looking for a house. It's driving me nuts that so many older houses have been "renovated" so horribly. They love to slap some vinyl flooring (the worst!!!! So trashy!!!) Over a totally uneven floor that clearly has real structural issues. The quality of the workmanship is often noticeably bad and they just install whatever cabinets, tile, fixtures, etc that seem trendy and cheap and are going to look busted and outdated in 10 years. Went to look at a house next to pope park that would be great if they hadn't done a bunch of shoddy work on it. Would truly be worried the tiles will fall off the wall in a year if I buy that house. Idiot flippers are just out there ruining houses and then wanting to charge more for how they've "updated" it when you would just have to come in and fix all their mistakes. Usually the work is superficial and the house still needs major issues addressed. So frustrating! And then you have the folks wanting to sell their normal sized house for half a million dollars when it needs all new windows and flooring. Also what is the deal with those little horror rooms in the garage where there's a room and a toilet nobody has used since 1975 clearly full of rats?? Aaaaghhhh whyyyyyyy. I just want a normal house with a yard. End rant. Sorry. But I can't be the only person who feels this way...
