I just told my manager I'm leaving, effective immediately.

I've been fed up with the security field for a while. A few months ago, I got serious, updated my CV, and started applying for jobs in completely different fields.

This past weekend was the final straw. We had four consecutive call-offs, creating a 20-hour deficit in the schedule. My manager simply assumed I would cover it all by myself. When I said no, he threatened to write me up for 'job abandonment,' which is obviously nonsense for an Account Manager.

I simply told him, "You should check your email," and hung up. My resignation was already in his inbox. And the best part? I've already accepted a new job in a field I'm genuinely excited about, and I start in three weeks. Until then, I'm taking a much-needed vacation with my family.

And to all the other A/Ms who feel stuck and completely exhausted: you don't have to put up with this. Start looking, fix up your CV, and don't settle for a toxic job. There's definitely something better waiting for you.
