Asking property to remove carpet before move in (Atlanta, GA)

I was told carpet was still apart of some units but the property was doing away with carpet and making the entire building hardwood once previous tenants move, I toured in person and saw the half carpet/half hardwood and asked about it and she said it would be removed before move in. However, the carpet is still there, would I be wrong to ask them to remove it before I move my stuff in. It’s a studio apartment and the living room area still has it. I would like it to be removed like I was told it would be? Do you think they would do it at my request? I don’t think I’m wrong for asking considering the entire building doesn’t have carpet except 4 studio units they’re renovating including mine. Also the 3D tour online did not show carpet in the unit either, it showed all hardwood and the leasing consultant told us it would be removed before move in.
