have you moved a parent into assisted living?
my uncle (mom's brother) thinks we should move my mom into assisted living. its a good idea since she's just getting worse and worse.
the elevator is out in her building and she can't really walk and she lives on the 4th floor so shes just been doing delivery only. how have you gone about moving an alcoholic into assisted living? she has enough problems to need it (can't walk, incontinent, memory issues), yet she still continues to drink. would assisted living keep her sober?
there are things she has (like jewelry, or family heirlooms) that i want to save, but i really dont want to have to go thru and pack everything in her apartment. it's gross and smells awful since she's incontinent. i just know going through her apartment is gonna traumatize me, but i do want to save a lot of her things (mostly anything that was passed down to her from my grandmother).
my uncle who suggested it is moving across the country in 1 month so he basically is putting all of this responsibility on me.
my therapist gave me some resources to look into but just wanna hear people's experience with it?
