Why is the BSB the only Paladin model?

I noticed on the GW website that the BSB Paladins are the only Paladin models.

I do not want my Paladin to hold the banner. Am I allowed to not equip him with the banner even though he’s holding it? I want to put him in my unit of Knights of the Realm.
