Ultra lightweight KDE and / or wayland distro / DE?
I'm currently playing around with an old cherry-trail tablet and trying to bring some life back into it. The specs are extremely low and I've tried a couple of distros with it. By far the best out of box experience has been fedora KDE with wayland. It's usable, just a touch on the slow side, so wondering if anybody had any ideas?
Specs:
4 core 1ghz cherry trail processor
2gb ram
32gb emmc storage
I had a good experience with linux mint MATE - however there was much configuration to do and the onscreen keyboard was kinda horrible
Same story with the various ubuntu spins - lubuntu, kubuntu, xubuntu
I feel like anything running on x11 has issues with "native" touchscreen support - hold to click and dragging etc. As such I was looking for something that fully supports wayland since it all seems integrated and is so much nicer to use
Is there a "light" desktop environment that fully supports wayland, or is there a way to "debloat" KDE to make it faster on such a low spec machine? I already have animations turned off and disabled zram in place of 4gb disk swap (I know that's more of a fedora thing)
Thanks
