Asbestos in Housing Association property - advice needed
I have moved into a property that has crumbling asbestos floor tiles in every room.
I am disabled and employ a Personal Assistant who helps me do my cleaning, however in light of the crumbling asbestos, I have told her not to hoover until I can get advice and/or get it removed.
I also have carers who come and help me get washed and dressed.
Orbit ARE aware, and they say they will be covering the floor at some point, but I don't know when they plan on rectifying this.
I don't know what I should be doing in regards to their ongoing health and safety though. I'm not sure what more I should be doing. My worry is that when I alert the care agency, they will stop carers coming round, and if I have to ask my PA not to work here, I am completely without a support network.
Any advice on what to do or where to go would be gratefully received. I will be having a few words with Orbit tomorrow. Any clue on what to expect?
I also have pets.
Am in a pickle.
