Can someone please recommend a UPS surge protector that can handle an RTX 5090? I thought my current one could, but I keep exceeding 100% of the battery capacity.

Hardware

I’ve owned a CyberPower - LX1500GU3 that I got at Best Buy for a few years now and it’s been solid…. back when I was running my 4090. I kept my PC on battery backup power, and I was immune to power flashes.

But recently I upgraded to a 5090 Astral and now my rig sucks up so much power that even with the PC being the *only thing* plugged into the battery ports, during intensive scenes I still hit >100% capacity on the battery - which creates a scary as shit loud beeping letting me know to cut it out.

I’m estimating my rig draws about 1000 watts at peak, and from what I’ve read my UPS only can handle about 950 watts (despite being rated for 1500va), so it’s not going to work anymore.

Weirdly, it seems hard to find a UPS rated for higher than this that doesn’t cost a fortune. And I’m pretty annoyed because this one costs $210 on its own.

So I’d appreciate any help from someone who’s figured out a solution, thanks.
