First time in Patagonia - TDP (Grey + Base Las Torres only) Itinerary Check

Question

Hi all -

This is my first time in Patagonia and am planning a solo trip to Torres del Paine in mid-March. Would really appreciate a quick reality check, especially around timing and transport logistics.

I’m only planning to do the Grey Glacier sector and the Base Torres hike (skipping the middle part of the W).

Proposed plan

Day 1

  • Bus Puerto Natales to Pudeto (arrive ~9:30AM)
  • Catamaran 10:30AM Pudeto to Paine Grande
  • Hike Paine Grande to Grey, and beyond to suspension bridges
  • Overnight at Refugio Grey

Day 2

  • Hike Grey to Paine Grande
  • Catamaran back to Pudeto (planning for ~5 PM)
  • Bus from Pudeto to Puerto Natales
  • Overnight in Puerto Natales

Day 3

  • Bus from Puerto Natales to Laguna Amarga/ Central
  • Check-in & overnight at Refugio Central

Day 4

  • Base Torres day hike from Refugio Central, and back
  • Bus back to Puerto Natales
  • Stay at Puerto Natales

---

Things I'm not too sure about and would love your thoughts -

  1. About the suspension bridges on Day 1 - would this be practical, since I'd technically be starting the hike after the catamaran reaches Paine Grande at 11/1130AM or so?
  2. I’m unsure about the Day 2 logistics:
    • The main reason I’m returning to Puerto Natales is because I couldn’t find clear bus options from Pudeto → Laguna Amarga / Central.
    • Do buses from Pudeto to Puerto Natales - pass via Laguna Amarga or do they go directly back without stopping there / via different route?
    • Would it be better to go directly from Pudeto to Central on Day 2 and stay inside the park instead of returning to Puerto Natales? If so, how can this be managed without hiking the middle portion of the W? This would also help me save a day.

Any advice would be really helpful - thanks much in advance!
