Awake while being intubated

Question

** Not me, but my dad **

55yo male went into VTACH and internal defibrillator shocked him 4 times + doctor shocked once.

Out of a kindness to him, they wanted to sedate and intubate so he wasn’t awake each time he was being shocked

They allowed me to stay in the room as I also work in healthcare and he was a bit anxious.

I distinctly remember the nurses/anesthesiologist speaking and asking for “120 of propofol”

Now I don’t work in this area, so I don’t know if that meant 120cc or 120mg(mcg?) for context he is 104kg

After being intubated, they woke him up due to his BP dropping. He was writing on a clipboard and kept saying he was “paralyzed but aware when the tube was going down”

It’s now two days later and he is off the vent, and he is still adimant that he was awake but couldn’t move and was trying to make them aware that he wasn’t sedated yet.

I work in palliative care so I am not sure about any of this but it feels like this should never happen… is this something that happens sometimes? Should he be reporting this? Did they mess up the dosage? So many questions …
