So, Is EVERYONE At The Institute A Synth?
Hey folks,
I know this theory has the big issue that when you kill Institute scientists, they don't have synth components in their brains.
BUT. Consider that there are no children anywhere. The only child I've seen is Robo-Shaun. I don't know, maybe I haven't explored everywhere, but I haven't seen any yet. Diamond City has kids. Bunker Hill has kids. Vault 81 has kids. The Institute? No kids.
Granted, there are some people who have familial relations; Patriot/Liam says that his dad is head of robotics. That could easily be explained by an implanted memory, though. Or it could be a kind of assigned, euphemistic thing, like how everyone at the Institute calls Shaun "Father." Like, maybe he was assigned his "dad" upon creation, and doesn't think to mention that because it's perfectly normal. Implanted memories seems more likely, but who knows?
Anyway, there are still no children there, as far as I know.
Also, I talked to the medical doctor and asked "So, you're the doctor here?" and he said "Everyone's a doctor here," and I thought... so how do you earn your doctorate? Normally to become a doctor, you have to not be a doctor first. So, where are all the non-doctors? Where are the people studying to become doctors?
I suspect that there aren't any. They're all synths working on synths, and somehow they've managed to integrate the synth component so expertly into the body that it's not identifiable after death. Maybe Shaun is the only real one. Hell, maybe Shaun's a synth too! He may not even know! I mean, there's evidence here in the Institute that I'm a synth!
I'm still exploring the Institute (I've played up to this point before, but it's been many years and I don't really remember it all that well), so maybe I'll find something that definitively disproves this, but so far, I'm feeling like the evidence in favor of this theory is at least as strong as the evidence against it.
