My first valentines day single
So after my ex and I broke up mid last year, I was so sure this valentines day was gonna SUCK. I was so sure I was gonna be all alone and bitter, watching everyone receive their gifts and valentines and wish it was me. I thought it was gonna be a day of longing and sadness for me, and I was very much mentally prepared. But instead? I went to work, where I love my job so I didn’t mind, and my manager had a rose and a card and a teddy bear holding a heart at my station. I always have to hide my emotions when she gets me things bc I can’t cry at work! Lol. But I felt so genuinely appreciated in that moment. My coworkers also told me happy valentines day! I watched one of them receive a bouquet of flowers and honestly it just made me so incredibly happy to watch the people I love be loved too :) no bitterness here! And my all my friends and clients wished me one as well! (I work in a service industry) Being surrounded by all this love, even though it may not be from the person who I thought it’d be from, really showed me that love is genuinely everywhere. We all deserve it and we all deserve to be/feel appreciated, never let an ex make you feel otherwise!!! And when I really think about it, my ex was too “cool” for valentines day anyway, so he never even really got me anything special or took me somewhere nice for the holiday.. so for this to be the best valentines day I’ve ever had and I’m single, tells me it’s time to move on to bigger and better 🥹 ty for coming to my happy rant! This is my testimony that even though it may not feel like it now, things will get better and you WILL find your peace. Just one day at a time!
