40M bored, looking for new friends

As the title suggest, I'm a 40M living in Canada.

I travel a lot for work and am generally quite introverted. I have a collection of close friends but my circle is small and social anxiety keeps it pretty closed off. It takes a lot for me to go out and "mingle" or "network".

My online experience has been mixed. I have a few close people in message with semi-regularly but 90% of the encounters on Reddit end in the person deleting their account or just ghosting. Part of me wants to give up trying to meet/chat with people here, but part of me wants to find that diamond in the rough.

I'm looking for somebody 21 an up. You could be 90 for all I care. I'm looking for somebody who is interested in longevity and who is invested in getting to know each other. I want to hear about your hobbies, your passion and what motivates you in life. I want to share jokes, funny memes, play games, share random pics of ourselves or just things we see that are funny. To me, the most important thing is that the conversation flow naturally.

For me, I'm a quiet stay at home kind of person. I enjoy reading - books about historical events or fictionalized versions of historic events, scifi and biographies are my jam. I enjoy watching movies. I have no specific preference so feel free to send my suggestions! I enjoy binge watching shows as well. I work out, ride my bike in the summer and enjoy hiking and camping. I've traveled extensively and enjoy other cultures but am always curious and willing to learn more. I enjoy trying new things and pushing myself physically whether it be a dance class or randomly signing up for high diving classes despite not being able to swim.
