I (28F) Back With My Ex(27M), But Marriage Timelines Don’t Match — Am I Being Unrealistic?

Hi everyone, I really need some outside perspective.

I’m (28F) and recently got back together with my ex (27M). We broke up earlier due to some issues, but we’ve reconnected and are genuinely trying to rebuild things in a healthier way. He’s currently pursuing law and rebuilding his career, and realistically it’ll take him about 3–4 years to feel settled. I’m also building my own business and not financially stable yet.

The main issue is my family. They don’t know we’re back together. I’m under intense pressure to meet “suitable” guys through an arranged marriage setup. They keep showing me profiles and pushing me to move forward because I’m 28 and they believe I shouldn’t delay marriage.

The truth is, I really love this man. He’s very kind, emotionally supportive, I have never felt like this for anyone ever before. But practically speaking, marriage for us isn’t possible for at least 2–3 years. Neither of us is financially ready yet.

I feel torn between:

• Taking a leap of faith and being patient despite the pressure, uncertainty and huge fight against my family to keep this. • Or ending it because our timelines don’t align with family and societal expectations and at the same time losing out the chance to meet someone through arranged marriage setup.

I’m scared of waiting and things not working out. But I’m also scared of letting go of someone who feels right just because the timing is difficult.

How do I decide between love and timing? And how do I explain this to my family in a way that they don’t look down on him, but instead understand and support us — emotionally and financially — as we try to build a future together?

Any honest advice would really help.
