Want to return, but can’t.
I have had this thing for a week, and haven’t played a second of gameplay that wasn’t just me making sure that it’s still an absolute brick.
Up to date as far as updates on:
Microsoft Store
Windows Updates
Armory Crate
AMD Drivers
My ASUS
I’ve also factory reset it, shut it off, and restarted many times as I’ve seen is a solution to a few issues in threads here.
I started following through the advice from 128KB on YouTube step by step but when he got to calibrating the gamepad settings I realized that none of my gaming buttons (ABXY+Dpad) work, none of my triggers, and neither stick actually work, but I’ve been so busy using the touchscreen to download updates and navigate menus that I guess I didn’t realize that none of those were working any longer. I’ve tried 6-7 solutions to that issue and none have worked. No, I didn’t accidentally disable embedded controller, and yes, I’ve tried the tapping the power button multiple times to make sure I’m not in some sort of hibernate mode or whatever.
I‘m so over this thing and I want to return it badly. Maybe I’m just an idiot who doesn’t understand it, I mean, I get that it will be more involved than a console or the steam deck or switch, but I’ve built multiple PCs and gamed on PC for years, and never had the amount of trouble this thing has given me. I‘m going through a cycle of finding simple solutions to the same issues I’m having, getting excited, then being let down again. I haven’t played a single minute of a game that wasn’t giving me like 1 frame per second (maybe). I bought it with a controller and TV dock as a bundle for 1000$ and really wish I’d have saved the money and bought an Xbox Series X or something. However, I bought it on Amazon, and it says I’m unable to return it.
If there’s anyone who’s been through something similar or who’s had success with returning it to Amazon please respond or DM me. At this point I want to get out from under this thing.
