Any mid handicaps switch from forgiving Max type driver to more tour style LS?

Just had a fitting and wanted to see if anyone has made a similar change. I currently game a G425 Max on a 65g AV tensei stiff. Have been using this for 4 years and clubspeed has increased. Currently a 13 handicap. Right now I battle spin. After a fitting today I was fit into a callaway quantum triple diamond with fujikara ventus black 6X (not the triple diamond max version). This is obviously a major change. The numbers were better, 20 yards more carry and 30 yard more total. Dispersion was also overall tight with middle and right miss but my usual left miss was eliminated. The thing I am worried about is if I got into a groove on the simulator and if I can really game a driver like this. Is it worth it to try to go back and hit more forgiving models again?
