Glc 300 digital key not working from time to time - any way to keep a spare key in the car?

is there a way to deactivate the key and have it in the car without it unlocking it? Amos’s I can activate it if needed (I can still unlock my car). I have on my phone and watch but soemtimes it randomly won’t recognize it
