Kidde chirps when it loses wifi
Due to not having much choice at the time, I have 2 kidde wired detectors, with wifi.
They were constantly doing a single chirp in the middle of the night, no idea why. I was very close to full replacement
A while ago I was doing some power/network changes and noticed they chirp any time I cycled my wifi, or cut the power. If the outage was short enough, there would be no alert in the app.
That made me realize that I had a timer to auto reset my router at night. I've removed the timer, and the nightly chirps have stopped.
However, if there is any blip in my wifi or power, they still chirp, randomly waking us up at night. Not enough anymore to fully replace, but really fkng annoying
Search suggests this is by design. Typical kidde UX incompetence
Does anyone know if it is possible to disable this behavior?
Why are smoke detectors always soooooo bad?
