Announcements in person vs text

i'm 5 weeks post-D&E for acrania and one of my good friends just messaged to let me know she's pregnant. She was very respectful and sweet in her message and said she wanted me to hear it from her first.

One thing she said was that she thought it might have been better to tell me in person but we haven't been able to see each other yet (we work together but i've been on medical leave & working from home since my tfmr).

tbh, not that her or anyone else's announcement is about me, but i'm glad i found out over text instead. I got to sigh and cry in private and message her that i'm happy for her, which I am. I didn't ruin her happy bubble and I still got to feel all my feelings.
