New to webtoons and art entirely. What does it take to become an author?

I've been sitting on a story for quite some time now and I'd like to make it into a webtoon. However I know nothing about how to draw nor how webtoons work besides being a casual reader on the webtoons app. I am however a writer of several years and have been working on this story ever since 2024.

I'm extremely ignorant with this stuff and need any advice/information I could get. Specifically how much time I should expect to spend on practicing and learning how to draw (specifically manga-style, Bleach/Naruto are two of my favorites that I wish to emulate) and what steps I should take to get good at it.

I'm not trying to be a great artist, I'm only learning so that I can convey my story to the world. I wholeheartedly believe this story will be very popular if I execute it properly. I also understand this is a difficult endeavor and that it will take several years. However I'm not trying to be a really good artist, just good enough that people won't gag when they look at my art.

Thanks guys!
