Cancelling My Visit

This is not a post to question whether i should cancel my visit my trip to Cuba or not, I have already decided on doing it as i doubt any miracle will happen before early March when im supposed to go.

This is more of just me ranting because Cuba has always been a place i really wanted to visit. Not for the beach, not for the rum and cigars, but rather for the culture and the people. I myself come from a country that has been in a state similar to Cuba since forever and it has made me more understanding of what the Cuban people are going through and respect them more for staying kind and friendly even in the face of the hard life they are living.

My trip would have taken me between Havana, Vinales, Matanzas, Varadero, Santa Clara, Trinidad, and Cienfuegos. I guess this is the main reason why i cancelled. 19 days, but any major disruption can leave me stranded or even stuck in Cuba.

I am not happy, but i guess sometimes we need to follow our guts. Travel advisories dont hold much weight on me, considering that my country is constantly on travel advisories, yet somehow considered of the best countries to visit. That being said, i wish the Cuban people all the best and hope that things will change and i get to finally visit and meet many of them.
