Looking for the best infant car seat that fits the Nuna/Cybex/Maxi-Cosi adapter

This seems like it would be an easy choice with the Clek Liing, except that we have to cars and will need two bases. The base alone for the Liing is $300, driving the total up to $800 which is pretty hard to stomach.

That said, every other option seems to have compromises. The Nuna Pipa Aire is appealing due to the weight, but Wirecutter says the base is potentially unsafe and I see occasional reports of child discomfort. The RX might solve both of these but then the price skyrockets again.
