Seeing the weld clearly...

I started welding a few years ago and I thought all was good. I would see YouTube videos of crystal clear puddles and I just figured that wasn't achievable in the real world under the hood. I was wrong... I've only had experience with the Hobart creator and could never see my puddle. just the arc and a bit of smoke from the fluxcore wire.

I decided to get a new hood and after seeing through the new lens, it's crystal clear and I can actually see my puddle now. fucking wild.

if you're just starting out, do yourself a favor and get a nice lens so you can see what you're doing.

my new hood is a sugar scoop (throne 2.0) and the lens I bought for it is the king 2.0 shade 11

my mind was so blown that I decided to order the red lens, and the blue. I can't wait to try it.

also, I'm still pissed that I paid $99 for the Hobart in the store just to find out later that it can be found online for $64 🙄
