Anime Frieren explains Moroccan society.
First I have to put you into context. Yesterday I went to the Toyota dealership in Rabat with the intent to buy a new car. The moment I got into the dealership there were two french women talking to the seller. The seller was talking with a passive and respectful tone, his french was broken, but he was lowering his head to compensate for that. Then came my turn and first thing I noticed is that his energy changed, he became a different person, he ridiculed my questions, gave me a false price and barely any time before suggesting it was his lunch break time.
How this plays into Frieren anime;
In the world of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, there are creatures called demons (Moroccans), the demon hierarchy is strictly meritocratic and built entirely on magical mana capacity (an aura that surrounds their body). To a demon, mana is their status, their pride, and their very identity, meaning they never hide their power because doing so would be a self inflicted social disgrace. Additionally they can't grasp the concept of other races (humans, elfs) hiding their true mana capacity from society and so that skill always works to deceive the demons.
Additionally the demons have no concept of empathy and the weakest demons will use language to exploit the feelings of empathy of other species in order to hunt and devour them.
I can't help but draw connections between Moroccan society and demons in Frieren. Had I not showed up to that dealership with an oversized hoody and maybe started speaking french to the goof, I might have gotten that car on a discount.
And this has happened multiple times in my life, and now I'm 28 years old I have finally decided that I would use every bit of energy and resources that I have to find a way to leave this shit hole, because what the hell is this society.
