The Fifth Movie Was a Chapek Approved Project or Was It?

Discussion

The fact that Pixar movies usually have a 4-5 year timeline, I think the new Toy Story film was mandated by Bob Chapek and Kareem Daniel under the previous structure where Pixar had no control over on what goes to theaters and streaming. After Lightyear flopped, Chapek was still at Disney until November 2022. I highly doubt that the movie was being worked on under a direct mandate by Iger.

If it wasn’t Chapek, Iger or Daniel, I can probably take the simplest solution that Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton or senior Pixar leadership considered a fifth movie to be developed.

Pixar usually does not rush movie development to appease Disney higher ups.

But I did see a video rumoring Bob Iger likely mandated more sequels from Pixar.

What do you think of how the fifth movie got developed?
