Pulled Zibia and now I need to defeat Unresolved Chess game, how should I do this?

I currently have 5 level 80 characters.

• Varesa
• Iansan (c6)
• Xiangling (c1)
• Chevreuse (c6)
• Columbina

I'm working on getting Zibia (c3), Illugia (c6), Gorou (c5) to 80 as well. I'm a newish player (started late dec 2025).

But none of these characters help me defeat the unresolved chest game. I tried solo with my Varesa team, no luck. I tried joining co-op and bringing my columbina and the party fell apart after 2 attempts. Columbina, in my understanding, is the only character I have who is even remotely helpful in co-op for this boss.

Do I build a character just to manage this boss in co-op? If so who? Do I build Kaeya to take along on my Zibia team just to freeze for the boss's ultimate? Who do I leave out, Illugia or Gorou? Do I pull Skirk and Escoffier and build them just to add another elemental reaction to my roster to help deal with future freeze bosses?

I've never been so hard stopped by my team on a boss before. Everything else I've managed to solo so far with maybe a bit of work. Are there more bosses like this I should be aware of? I've been focused on building my two teams to get to Abyss content. Should there be something else I should be building towards?
