Salary Progression For New Grad
Hey everyone,
I’d appreciate some advice on navigating an uncomfortable salary situation as a young engineer. I started last year at $70K with two internships under my belt. This year, new grads at my company will be starting at $80K which is a 15% increase over my current salary in just one year.
I’m already taking on responsibilities aligned with the level above me, and I’m expected to officially reach that level by the time the new grads start. I’m not confident my salary will be adjusted proportionally, which makes me question the fairness of the progression.
I genuinely enjoy my job and the team I work with, but the pay disparity is discouraging and has me considering leaving after my first year. I’d value any advice on how to approach this constructively
