I think I might have fucked up.

I have a heavily planted, well cycled ten-gallon tank that previously housed my betta friend, who died of organ failure.
I’ve been wanting pygmy cory’s for a while, but can’t find a place nearby that sells them, and I knew my betta could not coexist peacefully with them. When my betta died, I thought, “this is finally the time to get corys,” and against my better judgement bought five juliis.

I used to work as an aquatic specialist. I would have never sold juliis to someone with a ten gallon. I thought that because I’m a more experienced aquarist I could make it work, but I’m not sure anymore. I think I was just blinded by the sadness of losing my betta friend and I made the wrong choice.

The little juliis have acclimated nicely, and this glass surfing video is from their first night home. Today will be their third night, and they seem fine.

I’m worried that this isn’t what’s best for them. But also, I don’t think that the pet store is much better for them either. The pet store tanks are overstocked with dead fish decomposing in the water. I don’t want to take them back.

The solution is probably to upgrade but, even if I emergency upgrade, I won’t be able to do it for a few weeks.

What should I do?
