Gaps in Kids Media?

Seeking a parent’s perspective.

Hey all!

I’m a childcare worker (after school teacher, nanny, etc.) who has an interest in filmmaking and content creation.

I was wondering, what’s up with kids media these days? I feel like, from my limited knowledge, there’s a lack of new wholesome kids content. I know Bluey is popular and Kpop Demon Hunters, but outside of that, the kids I work with mainly talk about shows that came out when I was a kid (that they are streaming on Disney+) or YouTubers.

My big question: are there any large gaps in kids media that you’d like the see filled? For example, do you want more shows like Ms. Rachel or Blues Clues? What about read aloud videos (which used to be super popular)? Or, have we officially made a turn to YouTubers (think Mr. Beast or family channels) over TV shows/educational content?

I mean zero shade here, I genuinely just want parents input. It’s something that I’ve been wondering about for a while now.

Thank you and I’m looking forward to reading your replies!!
