Help with my 6 month old’s wake windows
Hello parents, I’ve seen other people reach out here to get redditor’s two cents when they are having trouble with their baby’s wake windows so I thought I’d do the same because we are reaching a point where things with my 6 month old’s sleep are getting hard again (Also she is 6 months old this week, 26 weeks old to be exact). For a good month we have been doing 1.5/2/2/2.5, but the past few days my baby has been really difficult to put down for naps. So today I tried to extend her first wake window to 2 hours because we have never been very strict about the 1.5, I usually follow her cues and sometimes put her down after 1.75 hours awake but usually she’s asleep before 2 hours awake. So after being awake for 2 hours it still took her a long time to go down and then when I finally put her down in her crib she woke up after 10 minutes and was wide awake. There was no rescuing the nap. The other naps of the day are much of the same struggle and I even just end up doing a contact nap for the last nap of the day most of the time. My question is what did your newly 6 month olds schedule look like and do I need to extend her wake windows even further to like 2.5? Or just wait it out and see if she just needs time to adjust? Like I said I usually follow her cues but for some reason I guess I’m not reading them right or she’s getting overtired??? Not sure. I know it will be just a phase but I would like the advice of people who maybe have/had the same experiences. Thanks!
