I need quick insight please! First at home treatment

My husband is taking his first at home oral dose tonight and he’s been in a very bad place for the past week or two. Like way worse than I’ve ever seen him. I don’t think “waiting it out” until he “gets to a better place about” is realistic. So we need to start. He cut a 300mg troch in half. He’s never done hallucinogens so he’s pretty freaked out but he just took it anyway. Isn’t it bad to go into it scared of a bad trip? I’m also scared but trying to hide it. Any insight is helpful 🙏🏼 TIA
