There’s always hope 🍀

I was laid off on June 4th, 2026. After three and a half years at my previous job, it felt like the rug was pulled out from under me. What followed were months of interviews, being ghosted, getting to final rounds and never hearing back, even receiving offers that were later withdrawn or just disappeared into silence. So many no responses. So much uncertainty. It really does something to your confidence.

My unemployment ran out in mid January. That was one of the scariest moments for me. Watching the safety net disappear while still not knowing what was next. I kept applying. I kept interviewing. I kept trying to believe that something would eventually stick.

On February 13th, I signed and accepted an offer letter.

It is a modest paying job compared to what I had before. It is not some big glamorous leap forward. But it is stability. It is income. It is a place to show up, contribute, rebuild, and breathe again. And right now, that is more than enough.

This season humbled me. It stretched me. It forced me to sit with fear and doubt in ways I never had before. But it also reminded me that doors do open, sometimes at the very last minute. Sometimes right when you think you cannot hold on much longer.

If you are in the middle of it right now, if you are sending applications into the void, if your benefits are running out, if you are questioning your worth because of silence, please hear me. It is tough out there. It really is. But your value is not determined by how quickly someone hires you.

Things will get better. They may not look exactly like they did before. The job may not be perfect. The pay may not be what you hoped for. But progress is still progress. A step forward is still a step forward.

Do not give up hope. Keep going. Your yes can come after a hundred no’s. Mine did. And I am deeply grateful.
