NEVER put flyers on passive flee.
I put my Argentavis on passive flee to prevent it from attacking a Carcharodontosaurus that I trapped for taming. I killed a medium-sized dino with my Argy nearby and dragged its body near the Carcha, which took about 8 seconds. I ran back to the exact spot where I had left my Argy only to find that it was gone. I looked around the landscape and saw no signs of him. I then scanned the sky and also saw nothing. I kept looking around until I finally found him being pushed around by a wild level 11 Argy. I immediately pulled out my spyglass and tried to whistle it neutral so it could save itself. However, I could not change my Argy's stance to neutral because they were moving way too fast and I had to perfectly aim my spyglass to the center of the Argy so its name would appear and my whistles would work from a distance. The wild Argy kept pushing it farther away while I was following them. About a minute later, both Argys went out of my render distance and disappeared. I was on top of a mountain, so I ran down but they still wouldn't appear. It became dark and I was freezing to death while being chased by packs of allosaurus, raptors, sabertooths, hyenas, so I returned to the other side of the mountain where I had trapped the Carcha. I managed to survive since I have a lot of points in movement speed. I spent a couple days killing medium-sized dinos and gathering their carcasses beside the Carcha. This took a long time because the Carcha kept aggroing and biting the metal structures around it (despite dropping the carcass and running away as soon as it started sniffing) before I could complete its trust meter. It refuses to fill the trust meter after eating carcasses when it's aggro. A few hours later of repeating the process of collecting at least 7 carcasses and offering them to it, it finally stopped getting aggrod so I was able to tame it. I walked back to my base to craft a Carcha saddle, repair my armor, and get cooked meat from the refrigerator. I hopped on my pteranodon, whistled for the Carcha to follow, and flew back to the area where I had last seen my high level Argy and the low level wild Argy. I searched the sky in a zigzag pattern but I couldn't find them. The pteranodon has terrible stamina so I had to keep going back down and back up during my search. I got tired of this so I allowed the pteranodon to become winded expecting it to slowly fly down by itself, but instead it kicked me off its saddle. Luckily I had parachutes in my hotbar. I slowly fell back down. I looked up and my pteranodon had disappeared. When I finally reached the ground, I mounted my Carcha and waited for the pteranodon above to come back down. It never did. How in the world am I supposed to get my Ptera and Argy now? The Carcha wasn't even worth it. It lost most of its health points after I tamed it and it almost died to two low level rexes and I had to intervene the fight with my pump-action.
