Apparently, I have an expensive version of a game. Keep it, or sell it and get a cheaper version?
in 2019, I was at Gen Con. I walked past the Gale Force 9 booth and saw they were pre-ordering a remake of the Avalon Hill Dune board game. I loved that game but didn't own it. I was so excited. I pre-ordered it immediately. I even got the pre-order bonus pieces.
It showed up later that year. I was waiting until I could get all my friends together to play it. So, I haven't opened it.
I want online to buy the game mat since we are actually trying to find a date. It appears, a mint version of this game and the pre-order models go for upto $300 - $400 because it is 1st edition. I was floored. Am I missing something? Noble Knight is selling it for $275 sealed.
Now, I love this game and I love Dune. I am not sure what to do. I can buy a 2nd Edition copy for $60 right now from Barnes and Noble. Part of me likes having a 1st edition copy.
What would you do?
