Do online preorders ship and arrive before release ?

I preordered RE9 a while ago. I chose shipping for the PC steelbook. The game comes out 2/27/26. Does this mean I’ll get the game on or before then? Or does it usually come late? I’m thinking about canceling and just preordering the digital if I can’t play on release
