I can feel everything around me and it’s too much
I am a 28M recovering drug addict, ever since I began meditating for 6-8H a day during 2020 (this happened after I first quit drugs at 22, I suddenly was overcame with the desire to meditate deeply all day..), it seems to have made me prone to “psychic” level disturbances. For starters, I can literally feel/read the thoughts/emotions of everyone around me VERY DEEPLY (I have tested this out over years to ensure it’s not mental health), good or bad, and usually it tends to be bad as I can feel everyone’s deep insecurities & resentments, while I can also feel people’s positive emotions/energy as well, my body feels like a discombobulated antenna.
My body literally physically reacts to everything around me that I absorb, it tends to stiffen up a lot and my spine is not even aligned anymore. The only way I can find any semblance of sanity is by grounding myself in meditation and essentially identifying with the witness, as a result, I live a very surreal life. I feel like I am observing this life, my attachments exist, but are so….. Fleeting, I feel like a ghost, a shadow, a specter. I have had dreams that have came true, I just feel overwhelmed at times.
Before anybody makes assumptions, I still function on a mostly normal level. I have a bachelors degree, I am a former history teacher/current banker, so it’s not that I’m lacking in the engagement department of life. I just feel like I opened a door many years ago and as time progresses, I lose myself a little bit more & more.
