Moving From South FL

Hello everyone! As title implies my husband and I are seriously looking into moving to Denver. He would be working in Denver while I am a nurse so hoping to get some input there, I was shocked to see that pay is about the same as Florida and you guys have no unions. In Florida we say you pay in Sunshine and I guess you pay in Mountain there lol. Either way happy to hear from any nurses about your experience finding work/working. We were originally looking at moving closer to Castle Rock (we have family in Colorado Springs) but after some research seems like the commute would be too long to drive to Denver everyday for my husband. So wondering about some other areas that are nice and family friendly outside of Denver with not as crazy of a commute for him but also close to atleast trails and good hiking spots with some Mountain View but nothing crazy lol. Our combined household here in South Florida is about 180-200k yearly and we would make definitely the same there if not more, we would want to buy a house eventually, probably not right away! I’m pretty confident in our decision as we both love nature and the outdoors, I think cold weather adjustment would be different as I’ve spent almost my whole life in Florida but South FL is horrendous, and becoming unbearable even outside of Miami. And growing up and visiting North and pretty much all parts of FL we have come to the conclusion that is not much better, it’s a state we have grown out of it I think. But specifically South FL, The people are rude, there’s nothing to do but drink and go to the beach and I’m not very much a water person lol. Nature also is non existent, and no the Everglades swamps do not count as nature in my opinion 😂. We have visited Colorado 3-4 times now and he grew up there in his teen years and loved it and loved the people and I think we would rather raise our child there rather than here! Anyways, any input is great from locals and transplants from Florida or anywhere at that! Thanks for your time!
