People hold too much weight in gaster actually showing up/being plot relevant

I am, a PROUD gaster denier, not rage baiting or being a contrarian it just genuinely baffles me how much peoples theories sit ontop the thin block of "gaster will show up probably"

I DO believe gaster is the survey program and deltarune tweets but that is honestly all he is going to be. I don't really see an observer kinda character as being plot relevant in my eyes as they aren't directly in the story itself and I do not see the character being involved much more past cryptic text outside the chapters itself, it is so much more interesting to deal with these new characters and mysteries than to fall back on him everytime, hell I don't even think the mystery man sprite is gaster. (and if it does end up being him toby definitely retconned that to conform with public beliefs)

Deltarune has a lot of mysteries and almost all of them will be directly solved within these last few chapters through reasonable explanations that aren't the result of gaster weaselling their way into it. I love hearing creative theories about IMG_FRIEND and Dess and its such a shame when they always end up coming back to gaster being the answer which is just such a lame cop-out answer, has the same ring of "Chara made them do it" in my head.
