Tips for finding the right seasonal work in Alaska

Other

Considering applying for some seasonal positions in Alaska for the quickly approaching summer season, but having some difficulties.

I have no experience doing anything like this but I would consider myself a very adventurous person who’s not afraid to take a risk (I went to a university far away from home because of a coin flip for example). But I am not sure what exactly I should be looking for in terms of job and company.

I’ve been to Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan in the passed and would prefer to be in Juneau as I want to be somewhere I can meet a lot of people. I also am not sure what job I should look for. I majored in economics which is pretty worthless when it comes to most of these jobs. I am a very in shape 23yo male so I could certainly do something that requires physical labor, and want to do something that will involve me atleast being outside some. Don’t want to be inside selling shirts all day for example.

Any tips on companies to avoid, roles I should look into, or people I should contact? Any of you going to Alaska this summer?
