When you can't work out what's messing up your game performance....

...If you are having issues where FPS seems fine but the game is lagging badly. Turn off hardware acceleration in your Chromium or Firefox browser.

If you keep this open all the time like I do it really effects the game. Strangely had this issue on past few windows PC's also and last thing I checked when migrating to Linux (Zorin)

My browsers even run smoother with this turned off and games feel all new.

• Open Edge/brave/chrome
• Click ⋯ (top-right) → Settings
• Go to System and performance
• Toggle Use hardware acceleration when available → Off
• Click Restart

Firefox:

Type about:config in address bar.

layers.acceleration.disabled → true (Change from false to true)
