Need to quit.

I have been left alone to close for two days in a row now because all my coworkers keep calling in. I am tired of this. It is unfair. This department is too big for one person to handle, especially on the weekends. I hate my coworkers and I hate the customers. This job is making me depressed. How do I quit? Is just walking out allowed?
