Stable on meds living in paradise but
Hello all, I'm 39 years old and after getting medicated for the very first time, I've also suddenly quit any alcohol at all. It is as if my whole desire to drink was suddenly removed from my life, to which I am very thankful. I battled hard to get here. Im 100% pt VA rated, and im right in the middle of filling out the 5 big forms to apply for social security. So if anybody has advice for me please do. I have enough money 4k a month, but now I find myself looking around asking is this all there is to life? Sometimes I wonder if living abroad in the Dominican Republic is long term for me or not. I think I feel my mood shift from day to day, and my Bipolar constantly tells me to pack up my shit and flee. But I'm not in danger here. I have anything I need. The battle is being okay with being okay. Maybe mixed with some survivor guilt. I escaped a bad system VA that was unable to manage my chronic pain. I've found that here easily but some Veterans don't. I try to control what I can, especially my sobriety, and live fully.
