Experiences with End-to-End Urethroplasty/or Buccal Mucosa Graft Honest Feedback Wanted
Hi everyone,
I’ve been living with a urethral stricture for about 5 years, which was officially diagnosed a year ago. Now, the only treatment option left for me is a urethroplasty, specifically an end-to-end procedure.
I understand that this operation involves removing a section of the urethra. However, I’ve read that it could also affect the corpora cavernosa, which are important for erections. There may also be loss of length, meaning the penis may not function the same as before. Right now, I feel paralyzed, depressed and unable to make a decision because I’m worried about:
•potential side effects that could affect me psychologically •the possibility that erection or sensation might not be the same •the small but real risk of recurrence
My question is: Does this surgery really make life better, or does it just fix one problem while creating other, very distressing issues?
I would greatly appreciate honest experiences from anyone who has undergone this operation. How did it affect you physically, psychologically, and sexually? Would you do it again? Thank you so much in advance!
