Ever since my front teeth fillings, I’ve been experiencing a lot of pain when flossing them. Is this normal?
I had a check up at the dentist who found my front teeth needed some fillings (no pain or discomfort but needed fillings before it reached that stage), composite small/ mediums on the backs of UR1-2 and UL1-3 done across a few sessions over the last couple of months
Since these fillings three of the gaps between my teeth hurt a lot to floss, not across the entire surface area but kind of like a buzz the wire of sharp pain at specific points. When it first happened I mentioned it at the next session and she said she could see where the problem was and did something to try to treat it, I felt no change and the same issue occurring with the next teeth that were worked on, then when I mentioned it again at my most recent session she was surprised but said it might just be sensitivity from having the fillings done and prescribed me some Colgate Duraphat 5000ppm fluoride toothpaste.
It’s been a couple of months now since I started having this issue and so far nothing has dulled the flossing pain even a little bit, and with just one more session booked in for a final filling I’m a little concerned that it’ll get handwaived. Is such a pain normal when the teeth themselves have otherwise long since settled down from the worst of their post filling sensitivity? I’m a little worried that there’s nerves that haven’t been covered properly or something
