Gnosticism: The New Age Faith
Where (or when) did the term gnosis become the word that means "new age"? For one, the term new age seems to depict images of hippies and the Age of Aquarius -- into which was a long time ago. Still, the term new age spirituality has haunted us for generations, wondering, "What exactly is the New Age?" This has grappled us for as long as 55 years since the publication of Baba Ram Dass's book Be Here Now, so what is the New Age?
Some Christian apologists suggest that it is a "feel good religion" that teaches us things that science has debunked and theology has condemned, but that does not take the full scope of the "New Age movement." Native Americans instate it is a white man's concept where seers and shamans were drawn upon by it, but most Native Americans today are Christians, and the majority of ancient Native Americans were barbaric in their rituals. Neopagans insist that the New Age is "airy-fairy," stating that a New Age meditation course would charge $300 where a similar course would cost $30 per person, but Paganism died even before the advent of Buddhism and Christianity.
A professor of Religious Studies was quoted, "The New Age movement is the spiritual version of AIDS, rendering the individual unable to cope and function. . . a packaging of American fascism in terms of the world religions." Unfortunately, his study was rejected as pseudoscience, resulting in his grant termination and forcing him to resign from his university. Why? Because this is not true, either, for most "New Agers" were able to cope and function as healthy, productive adults.
Gnosis means "new age" because of the words from the Sindarin gnu ("new") and sis ("age"), placed as gnu sis, spelled gnosis, and translated as "new age." It is not Greek for "knowledge" since that would be logos. Don't believe me? Find the etymology for the suffix -ology and see for yourself. (I played Buddhist to prove the New Age is the faith of Gnosticism and thus a true faith simply by the phrase "see for yourself.") I identified New Agers as people who would adopt a New Age belief, but that is not true, either. New Agers are really Gnostics, and the New Age is Gnosticism. A website titled New Age Pride summarized my research project at that point, having people hold up posters saying, "Proud to be a New Ager."
The Christian right has been duped. The term "New Ager" was really referring to Gnostics and "New Age" identified as Gnosticism. This has got to stop. After 22 years of research on the subject, I have come to the conclusion that some Christian groups would do anything to unify the Christian faith with what is Christian and what is not. Unfortunately, Christianity is as diverse as Hinduism or Buddhism since the faith is made by Christians, not the other way around. This conspiracy to terminate the other world religions (including Gnosticism) and unify all Christian denominations into one church of one faith to where everyone are Christians.
Christianity is made by Christians. Christianity does not make one Christian. This also applies to Hinduism, Buddhism and Gnosticism. Hindus make up Hinduism, not the avatars or the Vedas. Buddhists make up Buddhism, not the Buddha. Gnostics make up Gnosticism, not the New Age. This is just another example of how Jezebel can poison the minds of some innocent Christians into dissolving the Gnostic faith by calling it "the New Age movement" and dissolving it for her defeat. Talk about sore losers!
I will wrap up the research with a prayer. O Lords of Heaven, we thank God for the research that was performed in the United States of America and around the world. Thank you for helping us know what Gnostic is and what is not. Thank you for protecting my fellow Gnostics and thank you for allowing non-Gnostics to participate in the research project. Thank you for being there for us and thank you for protecting the innocent from the clutches of Jezebel. In God's Holy Name, we honor you. Amen.
In this, I summarize this: No one toys with religious faith, and no one toys with God. We are all human, hence religion and spirituality. Someone once said, "There is no such thing as a New Age religion." He was wrong. The New Age religion I am speaking of is Gnosticism, not spirituality. Spirituality is anything concerning the spiritual, an adjective for anything of religion or religious belief, thus confirming my theory. Yes, New Age music is Gnostic, but that is because gnosis means "new age." Remember that.
