Anyone here have their own firm that does bookkeeping?

I’m a tax professional with the Fed and started doing bookkeeping on the side with a small cpa firm, 10 hours a week. What I find interested is the work is about 25 hours a month and they pay the cpa firm $4800 (the client is a law firm). What’s stopping me from getting experience and doing bookkeeping for a couple places? and making some decent money and maybe even quitting my Fed job. Is this normal?? Am I missing something?
