having trouble making a datapack to edit create worldgen

I'm trying to make a datapack that allows zinc ore to generate while create's worldgen setting is toggled off. I want zinc ore, because it's useful, but all the new stone types create adds are massive eyesores in the wild and clutter up my inventory bad. I need help with figuring out how to do this, though, as nothing I've tried has really worked. I tried copying the create zinc generation files into a datapack, but it either does nothing or gives an error, seemingly at random. I'd really appreciate a step-by-step, or, frankly, someone just making the pack for me, as I've been at this for three days and made literally zero progress the entire time.
